Being healthy is very important during travel for if not, the travel will not be worth it at all. Accidents can happen. What is the point of traveling if you are ill or sick and cannot enjoy yourself? So I emphasize a lot on taking care of health during travel and it is for this reason we need to prepare and bring along first aid kid.
The first aid kit a traveler should carry will depend largely on the location, length and type of travel. A typical first aid kit for travel should consist of tools like bandages, medical tape, medical scissors, alcohol wipes, antibiotic ointment, rubber gloves, tweezers, sterile cotton pads, pain relievers, instant cold pack.
The first aid kit also should contain medication for handling pain, cuts, blisters, wounds, high altitude sickness, diarrhea, motion sickness, swelling, fever and colds.
A typical pain reliever is Tylenol no.3. This medication is used largely to relieve mild to moderate pain. It can be used to relieve menstrual pain, pain from cuts or blisters as well as pain from accidents. It can also reduce your fever. Note: Check with your doctor as this medication maybe labeled as prescribed medicine in your country.
You should also be aware this medication can cause side effects such as dizziness, short breathing, sedation, feeling of nausea or wanting to vomit, constipations, itchiness or abdominal pain. Pregnant women and children should not consume this medication. Seek a physicians advice before purchasing this medicine.
These are the basic things I bring along in my travels. You can follow or ignore this tips but it is your self responsibility to stay healthy during while traveling. These tools and medications are important as accidents can happen anywhere but it is more important to prevent such accidents or unhealthy incidents from happening than allowing them.
Prevent yourself from becoming unhealthy by being careful as well as taking care of what you eat. The step to healthy traveling begins at home where you research all about the location you are heading, of possible dangers you may have to face such as diseases like Malaria as well as possible food poisoning you might get.
